The Balm - Meet Matte Hughes

The Balm is one of my favorite beauty brands and I was so happy to be able to review this wonderful product, a lipstick in the form of a lipgloss - Meet Matt(e) Hughes. I've been wearing it for most of wintertime and it really helped me on those days when I wanted an everyday, skin colored lipstick that was longlasting and still special in color. It smells amazing - similar to After Eight chocolates - so it's minty and chocolate flavored and that special flavor will stay on your lips for quite some time. Because it contains mint oils, it also has a cooling effect. Can't wait trying it out for summer time.

Jedan od najdražih beauty brendova mi je upravo The Balm koji me do sada nikad nije razočarao svojim proizvodima, svi koje sam isprobala su na samom vrhu kvalitete u svojoj kategoriji i zaista sam zadovoljna što danas imam priliku predstaviti i ovaj ruž naziva Meet Matt(e) Hughes. Nosila sam ga kroz većinu zime, a ovi hladniji dani podsjetili su me na njega. Uvijek sam za njim posezala kad sam htjela svakodnevni ruž boje mesa koji će se uklapati uz ostali make up. Super paše i uz paletu Meet Matte Trimony koju sam nedavno recenzirala na ovom blogu. Ono što me najviše oduševilo kod ovog ruža je njegov miris / okus - kombinacija mente i čokolade podsjeća na meni toliko drage After Eight čokoladice. Također, radi ulja mente u sastavu, hladi usne i vjerujem da će biti super i po ljeti radi toga.



I would describe the color as a medium cool toned pink with hints of mauve. On my lips it looks natural and has a warmer, brick toned shade. It looks great when combined with Meet Matte Trimony palette that I already reviewed on this blog. Texture is matte as the name suggests and it dries quickly but doesn't leave the lips too dry afterwards. However, it's really long lasting, even hard to remove sometimes, and even as it fades away it leaves a distinct stain which also looks great. 

Opisala bih boju kao srednje ružičastu s "mauve" tonovima, iako mi na usnama izgleda čak i ciglasto. Zaista ju je teško opisati i imam osjećaj da na svakim usnama izgleda drugačije. Možda je najjednostavnije reći da se radi o boji mesa koja ipak sadrži ono nešto posebno što ovaj ruž odvaja od njemu sličnih. Mat je teksture, kako se i iz imena može zaključiti, no nije pretežak na usnama. No, brzo se osuši i dugotrajan je, tako da ga je skoro pa teško skinuti kasnije. Definitivno je odličan za duge dane koji uključuju hranu i piće. Ukoliko tražite svakodnevni kvalitetan ruž koji vas neće razočarati i koji je uz to odličnog "okusa" i mirisa, svakako preporučam. :)

Essence 2 in 1 Eyeshadow Pens

Essence is one of those brands that always manages to positively surprise me with its innovative products and price ranges. Recently I purchased two of these multi purpose 2 in 1 eyeshadow pencils that really exceeded my expectations and got me wanting for more shades. These eyeshadow pencils are extremely easy to use, you can just slide it on over your full eyelid and the effect it gives is quite remarkable. I chose two shades: Peach Perfect and Go Bro'nze because in my opinion it suits my eye color best but I will definitely get one or two more. I was mostly worried that it won't last much since it's cheaper than other more luxurious versions (like Clinique's chubby sticks) but to my surprise it lasts decently throughout the day and I never had the need to re-apply it. This could be my all time favorite Essence product along with their lip pencils that are great when used as lipsticks. Fully recommended!



Essence je jedan od onih brendova koji me uvijek pozitivno iznenade svojim inovativnim proizvodima (ili barem replikama luksuznijih brendova) po odličnim cijenama. Nedavno sam kupila ove višenamjenske olovke-sjenila koja nose naziv 2 in 1 eyeshadow pencil jer se doista mogu koristiti i kao olovka za oči i kao sjenilo te blagi highlighter za okoloočno područje. Odabrala sam dvije nijanse - Peach perfect, nježnu boju šampanjca i Go Bro'nze, brončano smeđu jer su mi se činile na swatchu najljepše i kao da će mi najbolje pristajati uz moju boju očiju. Zadovoljna sam bila već od prvog korištenja jer su primjetne na očima, ne preslikavaju se, ne mrljaju, lako ih je nanijeti i stvarno je idealan proizvod za brzinski wow efekt. Jedino što me cijelo vrijeme brinulo jest trajnost; nisam očekivala da će izdržati cijeli dan, a na moje iznenađenje i ta sumnja je otklonjena te olovka bez problema istrpi i najzahtjevnije dane. Svakako preporučam i mislim da mi je ovo do sada najdraži Essence proizvod!

Oriflame Giordani Gold Essenza Perfume

Oriflame perfumes never really caught my attention until I tried Giordani Gold Essenza at my friend's Makeup and OTHER house. It instantly reminded me of my beloved Chloe Love story and I wished to have it. A few months later when Oriflame contacted me for cooperation purposes, I asked to try out Essenza and they sent it to me for reviewing. At first it felt like it was a different perfume, I didn't quite like it and it felt too strong, too intense. Luckily, this was probably just a byproduct of me trying it out at home and not wearing it outside, so of course it felt a bit stronger than it is. When I started wearing it to work I noticed how subtly charming it can be - it still reminds me of Love Story, although it's a bit weaker in longevity. 

Nisam nikad pretjerano davala pažnje Oriflame parfemima dok nisam probala Giordani Gold Essenzu kod svoje prijateljice Ivane (Makeup and OTHER). Odmah me podsjetio na moj dragi Chloe Love story i poželjela sam ga imati za sebe. Nakon nekoliko mjeseci kontaktirao me Oriflame za suradnju i predložila sam recenziju Essenze na što su pristali i tako sam ga dobila na isprobavanje. Na prvu mi se nije svidio, iznenadio me, kao da se radilo o drugom parfemu nego onom kojeg sam probala no onda sam shvatila da je to zato što sam ga isprobavala doma i taj intenzitet je bio prejak za nekakvo večernje ležanje na kauču. Priča se promijenila kad sam ga prvi put nosila po vani, tad mi uopće nije bio prejak, dapače samo sam ga suptilno osjetila i opet me podsjetio na moj ljubljeni Love Story.


Giordani Gold Essenza's dominant notes are white flowers and citrus which is a combination that I especially like in spring/summer time. Top notes include bergamot and orange blossom which is a lovely mixture of freshness and femininity. It's still a bit more masculine than Love Story, probably because of woody notes, but I would recommend it to Chloe fans, at least to try it out and see for themselves. Unfortunately, I can't feel the scent of this perfume after a couple of hours, it slowly fades away, so I guess it would be best to just tag it along if you want the same intensity throughout the day. The packaging is beautiful, a delightful golden bottle that looks really expensive and high end and will serve as a nice decoration to any interior environment.

Dominantne note ovog parfema su mirisni cvjetovi naranče i bergamot koji zaista ispunjavaju prostor gdje god se nalazili i pozivaju na proljeće/ljeto. Essenza je najluksuzniji parfem u Oriflame ponudi, pakiran u predivnoj bočici zlatne boje koju krase pravi zlatni listići. Preporučila bih ga svakako ljubiteljima Chloe parfema jer su donekle slični no Love Story je i dalje puno jači i muževniji vjerojatno zbog drvenastih nota koje skriva u dubini. Trajnost mu je prosječna, ja ga osobno ne osjetim cijeli dan na sebi pa bi ga možda bilo dobro imati uz sebe za eventualno popravljanje tokom dana. Mislim da se nećete razočarati ako mu date šansu, miriše kao puno skuplji parfemi od njega, a i sama bočica je fenomenalan ukras za svaki interijer ili kozmetički stolić. Cijena mu je 189 kuna.

Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Lipsticks

Maybelline Color Sensational Matte lipsticks - I'm sure you already have one of them in your makeup bag, if not, you definitely should check them out. This is one of the most popular Maybelline's lipstick collections and one of the best when it comes to drugstore matte lipsticks. I have three of these in shades: Magnetic Magenta, Rose Rush and Daring Ruby. All of them are vibrant and unique when compared to my other lip colors, but my absolute favorite is Magnetic Magenta. I purchased it when I saw it on the lady in a store where I was buying my eyeglasses, because from that first moment I fell in love with how good it looked on her lips. And it's a true statement shade - real vibrant magenta, you won't regret buying it if you're into signature pink lip shades.

Maybelline Color Sensational Matte ruževi - sigurna sam da barem jednog imate negdje doma u svojoj kozmetičkoj torbici, a ako nemate, svakako ih trebate proučiti. Ovo je jedna od najpoznatijih MNY linija ruževa, koja se stalno mijenja i nadograđuje novim verzijama. Ja sam ih nabavila u tri nijanse: Magnetic Magenta, Rose Rush i Daring Ruby. Sve ove boje su jako žive i upečatljive, svaka je posebna na svoj način i mislim da će oplemeniti svaku kolekciju. Magnetic Magenta mi je najdraža, kupila sam ju nakon što sam ju vidjela na jednoj prodavačici, toliko mi se svidjela boja da sam ju odmah pitala o kojem se ružu radi i potrčala u BIPA-u po svoj primjerak. Ovo je prava 'statement' nijansa, jako vidljiva, ali i jako nosiva, lijepa, ne izgleda jeftino ili pretjerano. Ukoliko tražite vidljivu ružičastu koja će nadopuniti nude makeup na očima, svakako preporučam.



Rose Rush is a shade that is hard to describe - it's a basic Barbie pink with cool undertones, definitely not a nude shade, but could go well with nude-ish eye makeup. I love wearing it to work, it's feminine and pretty, and goes well with all outfits. Daring Ruby is really strong and I rarely wear it, but if I had an important dinner or some event I would probably choose it because it's a beautiful, unique red shade and it stays on your lips the whole time, just like the aforementioned Magnetic Magenta. All of these lipsticks are creamy when applied, but they dry to a matte finish and stay on your lips for quite some time. I was scared of smudging especially with these stronger colors, but they are completely glued to lips once applied. I'm sure you won't find better matte lipsticks in drugstores except for maybe L'Oreal's line, but they're of equal quality and MNY is still a lot cheaper. 

Rose Rush je boja koju je teško opisati, ali podsjeća na rano proljeće - srednje ružičasta, pomalo Barbie boja, s hladnim primjesama, jako je neobična i od svih rozih koje imam najposebnija. Vrlo ženstvena boja koja ide na sve outfite i svakako je blaža i mlađa sestra Magnetic Magente. Daring Ruby je najjača od svih crvenih koje imam i rijetko ju nosim upravo radi toga, no da imam nekakav važni događaj, sigurno bi ju izabrala jer se ne briše s usnica, ne preslikava, a to je rijetkost kod ovako jakih boja. Sve nijanse imaju kremastu teksturu dok se nanose na usne, a onda se osuše u mat finiš. Mislim da boljih mat ruževa zasada nema u drogerijskom rangu, osim možda L'Oreal ruževa no oni su dosta i skuplji, a Maybelline ne zaostaje za kvalitetom.

How to make your own media kit

Same as with blog design, having a media kit is an added value to your blog that will certainly help you appear more professional and will help everyone who wants to cooperate with you to see your data and statistics without much hassle. I have to admit, I didn't have my own media kit for almost three years that I was blogging but at one point it felt necessary and with my upgraded blog design I decided to improve all other areas as well. What is a media kit? It's a one page letter that serves as your blog's ID card. You can write all your relevant info on it and it is advisable that you use only fresh data when doing so. Some of the examples include: monthly blog visitors, social media followers, demographics, a short 'about the blog' section and so on. You can really design it any way you like but remember that, same as the blog design, it represents you and your blog so be careful to use the words, colors and graphics that you want to be associated with.

Isto kao s dizajnom bloga, media kit važan je korak u stvaranju dodatne vrijednosti na našim blogovima te će zasigurno pomoći u profesionalnijem izgledu i olakšati posao svima koji misle surađivati s vama. Moram priznati, ni sama ga nisam imala od početka, zapravo sam svaki put statistike prijavljivala pojedinačno, ali sam ubrzo shvatila da je puno elegantnije imati jedan dokument kojeg onda svatko može preuzeti bez problema, a još uz to i izgleda bolje. Što je uopće media kit? To je zapravo osobna iskaznica vašeg bloga, dokument od jedne stranice (bolje ne više) na kojoj ćete reći nešto o svom blogu, svojim željama te pokazati sve relevantne statistike. To uključuje: mjesečne posjetitelje, tzv. unique visitors, demografske pokazatelje, pratitelje na društvenim mrežama, kratak info o blogu i slično. Možete ga dizajnirati kako god želite, ali je bitno da prati nekakvu opću logiku koju imate i na blogu te da ne odudara previše od tog dizajna.



The easiest way to do it is to use Photoshop - but you can use Gimp, Photoscape and so on. There is an array of free mediakit templates but if you want to make your own from scratch it's really not that hard and I'll show you in a few small steps how you can do it yourself.

STEPS FOR CREATING A MEDIA KIT:

1. Prepare content that you want to use - text and all relevant statistics
2. In Photoshop, create a rectangle (A4 format) and choose a neutral color as background
3. Divide the rectangle as you would your blog - separate the header area, post area and leave one sideline empty
4. Insert your blog header into header area
5. In post area write some info about your blog
6. On sidelines, copy and paste social media icons and next to each one write your statistics
7. Optional: add graphics, blog post pictures and so on
8. IMPORTANT: definitely include your contact info (email, mobile phone) and if you charge for your posts, be sure to mention it as well

Najlakše ga je kreirati putem Photoshopa jer je to program koji, kad ga se jednom savlada, daje neograničene mogućnosti. Dobro je imati instaliran i mali program kojeg rado koristim - Color Pix - a koji će vam klikom na bilo koju boju na ekranu pokazati njenu brojčanu vrijednost i HTML kod što uvelike pomaže. Možete koristiti i besplatne programe kao što su Gimp, Photoscape i Picmonkey, no kažem, meni je nekako u Photoshopu najbolje. 

KORACI ZA KREIRANJE MEDIA KITA:

1. Pripremite sadržaj kojeg ćete koristiti - tekst i statistike relevantne za vaš blog
2. U Photoshopu napravite pravokutnik u neutralnoj boji, da otprilike odgovara A4 formatu
3. Podijelite ga u dijelove u koje vam je i blog podijeljen - prostor za header odvojite crtom, također i prostor za tekst te prostor sa strane ostavite praznim
4. Ubacite sliku headera svog bloga u dio koji ste ostavili za njega (ili napišite običnim tekstom naziv bloga)
5. U dio koji ste odvojili za tekst ubacite podatke o blogu, sadržaj kojim upoznajete čitatelja s vama
6. Sa strane možete dodati ikone za društvene medije i kraj njih napisati statistiku za svaku pojedinu mrežu
7. DODATNO: Možete dodati i razne grafike, cvjetiće, ukrase, što god inače na blogu koristite, kao i fotografije iz postova na blogu (ako su vam kvalitetne, dapače)
8. VAŽNO: Nemojte nipošto zaboraviti napisati negdje dosta jasno i većim fontom svoje kontakt podatke kako bi vam se brendovi ili klijenti mogli javiti za suradnju
