Wet n Wild: Mega Impact Mascara

Hello everyone!!

Today I decided to review the product that was sent to me by Wet n Wild Croatia (you should check out their products - they are great for very low prices). This will be a collaboration post - my friend Ivana from Makeup and OTHER blog will do her part of the post on her blog, and I will do my part here. She writes an amazing croatian blog and you should check out her reviews as well and support her with your visits.

You can see her review HERE!

I have to say again that this is a PR product but I will try to be as objective as possible, as always, with you, my readers. I know that there are many here who read this blog but never comment and that's ok, I used to do the same thing before I had my own blog. So I hope you enjoy this review and maybe it will inspire you to try this product, or at least give you some insight into it.

Before we start, I have to share with you my regular mascara which will get her review as soon as possible - it's the Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Care mascara. Out of all the others, this one proved to be the best for my lashes which are quite long and thick, so I basically just need something to blacken them and separate them a bit.

The mascara from Wet n Wild is a bit different than the one that I have been using and we will go through it now, so sit back and relax!

I guess it would be ok to know my lashes type before writing a review on this product. So that you can know if you will have similar effects (for example, everyone's favorite mascaras are usually terrible for me because they make me look like I have spider legs on my eyes).

My lashes are:

  • Thick
  • Long
  • Ashy brown colored
  • Sensitive (they tend to fall out if I use mascaras that are aggresive)

Now that we cleared that up, let's get to this mascara...first, we need to look into the Wet n Wild's description of the Mega Impact mascara:

"Make an IMPACT! This revolutionary mascara formula provides EXTREME volume and length with a silicon complex that provides elasticity and flexibility. Proven to enhance the natural lash up to 8X, this all-in-one formula is enriched with Kernel Oil to permeate and condition each lash to promote healthy, strong hairs while adding color and shine."

Ok, so I definitely think they overdid this description and that the promises are a bit too much regarding what the product offers. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just not -as good- as described here. At least in my opinion. I will try to sum up my impressions below, letting you know what this mascara did to my lashes and how I liked the effect!

My impressions:

  • This mascara managed to separate my lashes
  • It didn't leave clumps on them
  • The enlarging part - not so much, I got minimum enlargment
  • It was a bit dry, weird in texture - but the good side - it doesn't smudge
  • Has a decent longevity, will last all day
  • Nice rich black color
  • I liked the brush - thick and not too long (this sounds a bit weird right)
  • It doesn't have any artificial scent and it didn't hurt my eyes
  • My lashes did not fall out after removing it (not even one of them)

Price: 7-8 $ or 41,90 kn - cheap alert!! Quite affordable right? :)
Size: standard mascara size (8 ml)
Expiration date: not listed anywhere - I guess 6 months as usual

This is how it looks like on my lashes:

Conclusion: All in all, I would say it is a nice, average mascara for everyday use, but don't expect any huge impacts of it - it definitely isn't a product that lives up to its name. Of course, since my lashes are already long, maybe it will be better for you than it was for me. But for the price it is a decent product and I think you wouldn't regret if you bought it.

Have you tried this mascara? Or any other Wet n Wild products? What do you like most about them?

Roseybelle

    super post :D
