L'occitane Iris Angelica Sublime Beauty Cream

Hello everyone :)

Ever since BB creams (blemish balm or beauty balm) became popular on European market and that happened a few years ago - mostly because of Youtube's famous Asian beauty gurus such as Michelle Phan who recommended these creams as a substitute for regular foundation, I have been obssesed with finding the right one for my skintype.

The first one I bought was Garnier's BB cream which was too oily and heavy on me - until they introduced another one - made specifically for oily skin. This one has been my favorite for two years now but since it has that infamous alcohol scent and simply because I wanted to try something new - I decided to buy the L'occitane's Crème de Beauté Sublime Iris Angélique BB cream. And I have not regretted it.

BB creams suit me better than most foundations simply because they are much lighter, they feel like your own skin and they don't make those drastic changes to your face making it look like a cemented wall. Since recently, BB creams also have some nice extra factors such as high SPF factor or anti-age features and they can serve as a two-in-one or three-in-one products. Which is economically more efficient and it saves you a lot of time as well.

As those of you who read this blog probably know, I am a huge fan of L'occitane - their products are extremely high in quality ingredients, they smell nice and make your skin feel really good and besides that, the staff is always nice and welcoming, providing free samples and help with every purchase.

So on to the important part of the post - Iris Angelica Sublime Beauty Cream!

1. The packaging

It's really nice as you can probably tell - the white box with silver and green flowers engraved on sides and with a simple purple-rosey text on front. The tube itself is white with a fluorescent (mother of pearl) glow - it changes colors from white to blue to pink and silver and so on. It is really one of the most beautiful designs that I have ever seen when it comes to creams and foundations.

2. The texture

This BB cream is a bit firmer and not as watery as Garnier's. However, you can still blend it out nicely if you use a good brush and if you have prepped your face with moisturizer. This step is unavoidable - it won't blend evenly if your face is dry and full of rough patches - so don't skip moisturizing your skin (not now or ever - your skin needs water too!). I'm using a brush that I got from Ebay - it is a replica of Real Techniques Face Expert brush. You can also use a stippling brush.

It gives light to medium coverage to your face so don't expect miracles if you have acne or problematic areas - it will just emphasize the natural beauty of your skin.

3. The shade

There are only two shades available - lighter and darker one. That is a bit unfortunate and I wish they had more shades for us extremely lightfaced people. :D

I have the shade 01 light/clair and it is still a bit too dark on me. But if you blend it evenly no one will notice and after some time it really sinks into your skin making it seem almost invisible.

4. Does it last?

I'm pretty happy with the lasting longevity of this cream. It lasts throughout all day and I haven't noticed any significant changes - actually after it melts into your skin it starts glowing and you will get that nice dewy finish (not oily glow!). So I can only say it gets better after some time. And it also has an SPF factor of 30 which is super-high for foundations and bb creams!

5. The price

It is a bit pricey - 40 $ (223kn) but I think you get what you pay for - it contains iris and angelica extracts (which smell amazing!!) and it helps rejuvinate your skin so you can use it everyday and not have a fear of ruining your face.

And finally a few pictures of how it looks like on me:

I'm pretty happy with this purchase and I would recommend it to everyone who wants to try out a new BB cream or light foundation!

Have you tried BB creams yet? Which one is your favorite?

  3. Čitala sam same pohvala o ovoj BB kremi i zaista se čini super. :D

  6. Bio bi to lijep poklon stvarno :)

    Mene zanima i L'orealova Nude magique :)
